The Mossley Hill Residents Association (MHRA) is actively engaged with Bellway Homes regarding the redevelopment of the Carnatic Halls site, located in the Mossley Hill Conservation Area. We are receiving monthly updates on progress and will continue to monitor developments closely on behalf of the community.
Carnatic Halls, which opened in 1964, served as student accommodation for the University of Liverpool until they were vacated in 2019. The site holds historical significance, as it was built on the grounds of an 18th-century mansion of the same name, which was demolished when the halls were constructed.

MHRA remains committed to ensuring that the voices of Mossley Hill residents are heard during the planning and development process. We are in regular communication with Bellway Homes to advocate for a development that aligns with the character of our neighbourhood while respecting the site’s historical and environmental importance.
While we strive to influence positive outcomes, it is important to note that our role is advisory, and we do not have direct control over the decisions made by developers or planners. Our focus is on fostering transparent dialogue and working collaboratively to address concerns raised by the community.
We encourage residents to stay informed and share their views with us. MHRA is here to represent you, ensuring that the redevelopment of Carnatic Halls contributes positively to the future of Mossley Hill while preserving its unique heritage.
For further updates or to get involved, please reach out to us directly and become members of the Association for updates.
